'The Way Forward' - Demo EP - April 2024 through May 2026

I started working up this batch of new songs back in late 2022 and began recording in early 2024. I figured I'd be done with them in something like 3 to six months, but there were lots of distractions - most of them good.

In the end the production of just 6 songs took over 2 years. It's kind of a luxury when there is no deadline and no one really cares about what you're doing. You can take your time and really "finish" a song. It also gives you time to learn new instruments, to play the parts that you imagine in your head.

Arranging all of the songs on this EP is a first. I took the time to add in banjo, mandolin, bass, piano, along with lead guitar / slide / and triad runs. I feel like the versions of these songs give a hint of what they could be if I ever get around to properly producing them.
